Jerald Brown
I am the author and co-author of four poetry books and 1 non-fictional visual publication. My first book, “Poetically Baring My Soul,” debuted in 2013. I co-authored a second poetry book entitled “Pillow Talk: A Poetic Dialogue from His and Her Perspective” with fellow poet and author Ranieka F. Johnson. The follow up is an anthology with 15 Memphis poets called “Memphis Has a Voice Too.” There is the first of a two part series entitled “We’ve Been Sleeping Long Enough, Part 1: Poetically Alarming The Black Conscious.” My non-fictional illustration on Black Inventors is called "Now You Know." I am also a traveling spoken word artist who performs under the name Lyfe Lessons. I was born and raised in Danville, Illinois, and has resided all of his adult life in Memphis, Tennessee. I am currently the Owner and CEO of a self-publishing company called All In All Publishing.
